“What is a mere individual to do? Live as sane and decent a life as you can, love your family and friends and understand that everybody is in this together."

The Charles T. Bauer Foundation “Challenge Match” is under way. Every dollar raised for The Ron Smith Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund at Hopkins from January 1-October 31, 2013 will be matched, up to one hundred thousand dollars!

Donations to the Ron Smith Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund will support Johns Hopkins research with new collaboration that calls upon the breadth of knowledge that exists throughout the University. The same technology used by the Johns Hopkins Space Telescope Science Institute to explore 200 million galaxies is being used to pour through huge amounts of data related to cancer DNA. This will draw clinically relevant conclusions and connect them to patient-specific problems.

Ron would have marveled at these remarkable advances and humbled by this lasting legacy in his name. The number of individual lives that will be impacted by your act of generosity reinforces Ron’s commitment to transforming the way pancreatic cancer is detected, diagnosed and treated.
